| BEYOND VANILLA is a graphic, funny, and educational look at sexual practices which exist out of the scope of experience for the average person. With the help of 100 interviewees, including porn stars, sex industry workers, and everyday people, director Claes Lilja attempts to offer an explanation as to why people venture toward the fringes of conventional ideas of both pleasure and pain, and also offers detailed instructions on how to partake in riskier practices--including electric shock and knife play--with safety and responsibility.
